Comments about the web site: I was not born a Donohue, but was raised by John J and Mildred (Kennedy) Donohue. I'm not sure if they are related in any way. John was originally from Portland, ME. His Dad came over from Ireland. The Donohues’ raised me from 1.5 years old till I married. Due to that I made the decision that I wanted to carry on the Donohue name.

Comments about the web site: I JUST HAPPENED UPON YOUR SITE WHILE TRYING TO DO SOME FAMILY BACKGROUND, WHICH HAS BEEN FUTILE TO DATE. I'M A RETIRED POLICEMAN FROM PORTLAND OREGON, AND MY GRANDFATHER ALSO WITH THE SAME NAME RECEIVED HIS CITIZENSHIP PAPERS IN OCTOBER/1890 IN ASTORIA, OREGON,AND I THINK HE HAD A BROTHER NAMED "HUGH" WHO WAS FROM BALLYJAMES DUFF IN COUNTY CAVAN. WELL, ANYWAY I KEEP TRYING TO CONNECT WITH SOME FAMILY SOMEWHERE, CAUSE I KNOW THAT WAY BACK SOMEWHERE ALL OF THE "DONOHUES" WERE RELATED, AND HOPEFULLY NOT TO "PHIL DONAHUE!"

Comments about the web site: I was quite interested in your website. My father's family settled in Ilion, New York (Herkimer Co.). My grandfather's name was Ray Brown Donohue and he must have been born around 1900. I have traveled in Ireland and can report that there are many O'Donoghues in Kenmare, near the Lakes of Killarney. My wife's parents come from Ireland (near Tralee and Limerick) and her maiden name is McCarthy which is also seen in Kenmare. The McCarthy Mor was established at Ross Castle in Killarney. Thanks for an interesting site and best Holiday wishes. Dave Donohue

Comments about the web site: I'm trying to trace my family back to Ireland. Do you have any suggestions? My Great Grandfather's name was Timothy Donohue and he lived in County Kerry. My Grandfather migrated to Worcester Massachusetts between 1911 and 1913. He met and married my Grandmother Catherine Culloty on Novenber 25, 1913. My Grandmother came from County Cork. I would like to get any rcords of their sailing to the States and Family records in Ireland. It was really interesting to see how you developed your record and would be very interesting to find out if we are distant relatives. Tim
